TechHire Oakland is excited to announce our partner LinkedIn's REACH Engineering Apprenticeship for Non-Traditional Talent: Applications due 7/31

DESCRIPTION: REACH is a multi-year apprenticeship program for non-traditional (non four-year CS degree) talent in which individuals rotate through various levels of technical engineering roles at LinkedIn. The end goal is for each person to build their skillset and gain the experience needed to become an engineer. The time each apprentice spends in this program will vary depending on their incoming skill set and progress.

The apprenticeship will consist of on-the-job technical responsibilities, mentorship and dedicated resources for developing technical skills.

ROLES: Applications Developer, Mobile Developer, UI Developer, or Site Reliability Engineer (subject to change)

DURATION: 1-5 years, full-time, starting in late October 2018

LOCATION: San Francisco or Sunnyvale


  • Ages 18+
  • Non-traditional talent (individuals who have not completed a 4-year CS degree).  This includes community college students, bootcamp talent, self-taught individuals, and career transitioners. 
  • A demonstrated history of independent coding related projects or solving problems with code. Some examples include:

Open source contributions
Personal projects hosted on Github, etc.
Hardware hacking with tools like Arduino
Automating job functions via scripting or macros
Complex spreadsheet formula creation or maintenance, Querying databases

2) Apply On Time: At 9AM PST on July 31st, LinkedIn will open its application portal. LinkedIn will accept applications for 2 days or until they've receive 400 applications. The first 400 applications are guaranteed to be reviewed.  List "TechHire Oakland" as the referring organization only if you're an East Bay (Alameda + Contra Costa) resident of color.

3) Follow Up: If you're an East Bay (Alameda + Contra Costa County) resident of color, make sure you've filled out our TechHire Oakland Talent Form.  This will allow us to vouch for you and automatically subscribe you to notifications about future TechHire Oakland-LinkedIn skill-building workshops.
